Brand identity, typography, illustration

Pot Au Feu is an established restaurant in downtown Providence, Rhode Island that claims to be the “America’s oldest French Bistro”. Opened in 1972 by the owner, Robert Burke, the restaurant’s locally sourced French comfort food is based on the cooking of Julia Child’s. As the restaurant is somewhat of an institution in the college town of Providence, the restaurant needed an update to their branding that drew in a larger audience.

Brand Identity

The restaurant’s branding before the rebrand was a little outdated for it’s growing customer base and needed a sophisticated and hipper update to draw in it’s new clientele. The navy and gold color scheme of the new brand is inspired by sophisticated French bistros and hotels, while the illustrations convey the locally sourced, farm-to-table aspect of the restaurant.
